States of violence: Exploring welfare state regimes as violence regimes by developing a violence regimes index

The aim of the article is to examine if and how welfare state regime typology translates into a violence in European context. It builds on concept regimes (Strid et al. 2017; Hearn 2020) empirically whether production interpersonal constitutes distinct regimes, these correspond (or not) with gender other comparative metrics violence, equality feminist mobilisation transnational actors. Its main contribution operationalise thereby moving from theory first empirical measurement. By constructing new composite measure Violence Regimes Index, based secondary administrative survey data covering then 28 EU member states, countries are clustered along two axes violence: ‘deadly’ ‘damaging’ gender-based violence.
